Learning to Use the Equipment

Camera, Lighting, and Sound:

Yesterday we practiced different techniques of lighting including three-point lighting and silhouettes. We learnt how to white balance using a lighting fleccie, and today we went outside to demonstrate our understanding of this.

 Today we used the cameras, a Sony XD Cam and took various shots, including a mid-shot and a close up. We attached a microphone to the camera and saw the way sound can be incorporated into the video.

Here we have Chloe demonstrating our three point lighting with red gel filters. On the left, Kevin used a lighting fleccie to redirect the light onto Chloe's face. We had one light on each side of her to create this dynamic.
