"Synergy and Cross-Media-Convergence are vital processes in the successful marketing of media products to audiences." To what extent do you agree with this statement in relation to your chosen media area? Several media institutions use synergy and cross-media convergence to market their films successfully and introduce them into different markets. MEDIA STUDIES: THEORIES Stuart Hall’s Reception Theory: ·         Stuart Hall’s reception theory emphasizes that media texts are encoded and decoded. ·         The producer encodes messages and ideas based on their own ideologies which are then decoded by the audience. ·         However, audiences with different ideologies will interpret media differently, and perhaps in a way that producers did not intend for. Teacher Feedback: Things that worked well: Nice fades over establishing shots She liked the echo effect of the voices Things that need work: The titles need attention The audio needs to be louder - the voices were hard to hear at times during moments of dialogue The build up to the jump off the bridge needed to be more impactful, and the suspense needs to be built up more (whether it be closer shots or audio changes) Peer Feedback: Things that worked well: Nice establishing shots Nice fades between shots Good actors Music in background was fitting for the video Things that need work: The shots might be too quick The end credits need work (they were too quick)
